Greg Gutfeld with the Best Albums of 2016

This week, The Conservatarians — aka, Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel and Heatstreet contributor Stephen Miller — are proud to welcome the host of “The Greg Gutfeld Show,” er, Greg Gutfeld! As the year draws to a close, we set aside the news of the day and focused on what really matters: the best albums of 2016. You can listen to a song from each on our special Best of 2016 Spotify playlist and can read Greg’s top ten over at Fox News.

Our intro and outro music is “A Night and a Day” by Pepe Deluxe. To listen to all the music featured on The Conservatarians, subscribe to our Spotify playlist! You should also subscribe to this podcast and give it five-star, glowing reviews on iTunes.

First time I have listened to this podcast. I seem to be a bit out of touch with the modern music scene, but only by about three centuries.

I loaned a musician friend my copy of King Gizzard’s Nonagon Infinity and I think his exact words were “this is insane, good, but insane.” According to him, their time signatures are flat-out bizarre and it verges on being nearly unperformable. I don’t know about that, but I do know that if you have a lot of highway driving to do, you put that sucker on repeat, crank it up, and watch the miles fly by.

I’m not a podcast person, but this inspires me.

I tried to like the album by Avalanches, but could not. I really like Mitski and Carseat Headrest. Those are the only ones I had heard of before this podcast.

It’s nice to get music talk without the liberal talking points. Now we just need a non-leftest version of Wired.

The Spotify link works for me, but what I did was embed the playlist in the post above. Hopefully that will work!

I can’t say it was the best podcast within the Ricochet family ever, but it was quite the unexpected and unusual pleasure. You should cover culture more often.

While listening to this, I think we should just keep Greg Gutfeld. Can we? Can we please? I do not know what it would take to bribe him to do it, but if we keep him, I’ll totally stop thinking of Ricochet as my dirty little secret.

I’ve heard of Sturgill Simpson. That’s it. Trying to decide if that’s good or bad.

I lost track of current music trends for this very reason. About 8 years ago I figured they were all against me and just gave up.

if these guys just got together and talked music every week instead of politics I think I would listen to this show.
