Glad to hear talk about Hell or high water. I saw it yesterday & I can confirm, it’s the one good summer movie. It’s worth talking about at some length, but even a recommendation will do.
I agree with the comment that it’s a necessary study for people who want to make sense of the Trump phenomenon.
I’ll add that Mr. Jeff Nicholas has been making these movies for nine years now–maybe it’s time some of us on the right pay attention.
By the way, the same two leads Messers Ben Foster & Chris Pine did another really good story–true story of American heroism–it’s called The finest hours. Didn’t get attention, but it’s very much worthwhile.
& you get something with this double whammy: Texas v. Massachusetts, America as it was two generations back vs. America now, &c.
But the part about how the movie portrays or even suggests people who’ve done everything right but can’t get ahead or people who vote Trump–this is catastrophically, hilariously mistaken. It’s a shame the guy overleaps himself this way. There’s a ways to go from the story to any politics.
I want to love this podcast but am having a hard time getting past the fact that one host completely hogs airtime. Did the guest get to say more than 3 sentences?

I second @titustechera. “Hell or High Water” was great! Took a friend Sunday night. We both loved it. I’ve been to that part of Texas.
