Comedian Dave Smith

Jon Gabriel (@ExJon) and Stephen Miller (aka @RedSteeze) welcome Dave Smith — a stand-up comedian, radio personality, and political commentator. He’s a frequent guest on “The Greg Gutfeld Show” and “Kennedy” and also hosts the podcasts “Part of the Problem” and “The Legion of Skanks.” Dave just released a new comedy special called “Libertas” which you can watch on the GaS Digital Network.

The intro song is “It’s On” by BRONCHO. Stephen’s song of the week is “Seasons (Waiting on You)” by Future Islands and Jon’s is “Spent the Day in Bed” by Morrissey. To listen to all the music featured on The Conservatarians, subscribe to our Spotify playlist.

Love the content of the show,  but the audio quality when the guest was speaking was really bad.   There is so much clicking, tapping, and extra noise that I couldn’t make it through the whole show.  I’m listening on an Axon 7 w/Dolby and use the DoggCatcher app.

Audio quality is a big problem in the podcast world.  It’s especially bad when shows are hosted by multiple people via phone lines – it’s almost torture.

Yes! to Future Islands! If you haven’t yet you should watch their performance of this song on Letterman in ’14.

Awesome interview, but did anyone else catch the contradiction between what Smith was saying about his fearlessness to “go there” about any topic, however taboo, as long as it’s funny, because in his words, if something is funny, people will definitely laugh at it (often involuntarily) …

    — and Smith’s absolute unwillingness to play college campuses because today’s college students are such politically correct prudes?

It’s almost as if Smith is saying, hey, if the joke is well written and you deliver it right, people are going to laugh!  So do it, baby!  Be bold!  Take that step!  Cross that line!

    — Except onto college campuses.  Because that way lies madness.

In other words, the new SJW culture has had an effect on Smith’s professional life.  A rather considerable one.
