CNN’s Broward Clown Hall

Jon and Stephen join you live from CPAC! (Okay, not really.) But they do discuss CNN’s crazy townhall and the multiple failures by the Broward Sheriff in the Parkland shooting.

Our intro and outro music is “Bodys” by Car Seat Headrest. Jon’s song of the week is “Catch It” by iceage and Stephen’s is “Sober to Death” by Car Seat Headrest. To listen to all the music featured on The Conservatarians, subscribe to our 2018 Spotify playlist!

The CNN event about guns was a disgrace. You guys did a great job of pointing it out with evidence.

I disagree on making them look bad. If you speak up, even as a teenager, you get what is coming to you. If Gateway Pundit is making people look bad, good.

    On “need”

The moment someone else tells me what I “need” or don’t “need” I lose my liberty, on any subject.

The idea that the Second Amendment means we don’t have to worry about preserving gun rights is naïve. To progressives, the Second Amendment means whatever they want it to mean. They don’t care what it actually says; it’s all about the power to interpret it.

As I recall, the long-time liberal interpretation of the Second Amendment is that an enabling act for the National Guard somehow crept into the Bill of Rights, and the right to bear arms applies only to the National Guard.

Nonsense? Of course. But if five liberal Justices — that is, just one more than we have now — uphold that nonsense, there is no appeal.

I am wondering how they are going to come get the guns. The AR can be dismantled into 40+ pieces with only the lower receiver, the size of a paperback, having a traceable serial number. Even that can be bought without a serial number and machined into a receiver. Few would ever be found. I doubt if any police department in the country wants to waste time chasing down law abiding citizens instead of criminals. I have seen leftie loons say people should be locked up for 10-20 years if they don’t turn in their guns. Ok. Prisons are full. Do they want to turn out criminals to have room for law abiding citizens?

As a Floridian, I knew the Ban wasn’t going to pass because it was a Democrat introduced bill that is harsher than the Federal Assualt Weapons Ban. It only requires a semi-auto pistol that is fed through a detachable magazine to meet one category to be banned instead of two categories under the FAWB. The Governor’s plan is reasonable and is a model for other states. I’m mostly concerned that the Right seems to want to solve the underlying issues (failure of police, mental health screenings, preventing crazy people from getting guns) while it seems the left has an obsession with guns and not solving the problem.
