Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming began the Trump era a rising Republican star. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016, the same year Donald Trump was elected president, and quickly advanced in the GOP congressional leadership. It all came crashing down this year, when Cheney rejected Trump, very publicly, after he refused to concede defeat to President Joe Biden and claimed the 2020 election was stolen.

In this episode, Cheney discusses the moment she concluded Trump should be purged from the Republican Party, why she believes the 45th president is a clear and present danger to the republic, and what she thinks of Republicans, like House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California, who have remained loyal to Trump through all of it.

An excellent interview.  Liz Cheney voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020.  She explains how Trump’s behavior after the election and especially surrounding January 6th disqualifies him as being considered for President in the future.  She is a strong Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, National Defense, and Small Government Republican.  She is everything Conservatives and Republicans could want with one exception, she takes her oath of office seriously and opposes Trump.

The interviewer is David Drucker, who works for the Washington Examiner, a right of center newspaper which includes conservatives Michael Barone and Bryon York as writers.

David Drucker is interviewing leading Republican figures, starting with Mike Pompeo on September 21st.  He is the author of a book titled “In Trump’s Shadow; The Battle for 2024 and the Future of the G.O.P.” which is coming out on October 19, 2021.

She states that the choice for Republicans is between loyalty to the Constitution and loyalty to Trump.

    A superb interview.

It’s disgusting that you would put this front and center on the Main page. You might as well just come out and admit this is no longer a conservative site and it will take money from anyone regardless of principles. Shameful disregard for core principles and a slap in the face to your members.

Episode one was with someone who is still very loyal to the former president. Episode two is not. It’s part of the story, whether we cover it or not. She’s underwater in her re-election bid. Trump has endorsed a primary opponent (An ex-Cheney insider, Harriet Hageman.)

Which means that you would have labeled Liz Cheney as a cultist and completely mad in 2016, when in fact all that she did was to represent her constituency. Now that she represents only herself, and her only cause for being is to attack President Trump, you laud her and call her thinking excellent.

    Sad.

Did you feel that way when he interviewed Mike Pompeo last week?  Liz Cheney is a Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, Small Government Conservative.  You just disagree with her on one issue.

I have looked.  You can’t recall a member of the House, Senate or President.  Otherwise, I would have recalled Arizona’s Representatives Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs in January 2021.

I dont have any interest in listening to this particular program, but I do agree it should be on the front page.  We need to not take everything so personally.  We are not the left, we benefit by hearing all sides of the discussion.

Would you feel that way if they promoted interviews with Lisa Murkowski, Dan Crenshaw, Bill Barr, Brian Kemp, Brad Raffensperger or any of the other RINO squishes who’ve turned their backs on conservativism, veterans, innocent citizens, young women, and the rule of law lately?

Ricochet has consistently promoted this establishment elitist class over the patriots doing the real work to save this country. They’re not interested in having smart, civil conversations with conservatives who threaten the D.C. cocktail party bubble. I can only guess that’s because they’re not serious about saving it, or ignorant of what it’s going to take. Let me know when when they start interviewing people like David Clements, Bobby Piton, Seth Keshel, Patrick Byrne, or Garrett Ziegler. They can tell you what’s really going on in a post-Trump America, and the future for the GOP. Hint: It has to do with never being able to win another election again unless things change.

But it may take some digging around to find out what they’re up to, because the media gatekeepers are trying to bury their stories, just like Ricochet.*

Does not exist in federal elections. Period. Eyes on the prize. Crush her and her enablers in the Wyoming primary. With an open primary system and no declared Democrat Party candidates yet, we can expect massive cross-over to rig the general election. Republicans and independents are going to have to overwhelmingly turn out to reject the spawn of Dick Cheney. If the left and RepubliCANTs succeed, then true republicans must be prepared to have to run a disciplined independent campaign, flipping the Lisa Murkowski script on McCarthy and McConnell.
