The Omega Men
The HWX podcast is back in quarantined form! Paul and Brian pay tribute to the Charlton Heston camp thriller that somehow seems to parallel the events of 2020.
What are they drinking? Brian has the old reliable All Day IPA from Founders Brewery, while Paul has a Summit Grapefruit Supreme.
Then the boys settle in to tackle the issue of COVID-19 and the lockdowns, including an appearance by very special guest Dr. Fauxi.
Finally, see what poll conducted by Yahoo News and YouGov has results that Paul thinks are Fake News.
All that and more in this very special episode!

Always glad to see this one back. But for the most part it was so serious. I almost wished they’d do an ad for Necrophilia and Sons Funeral Home.

    Almost.

So “Happe” to see the guys back. And Pajama Boy. And a little dash of ‘80s King Crimson.

Mr. Dog – regarding the King Crimson track, I once heard it described as music that sounds like math.

That was one of their best bits. Just the title makes me laugh again.

Brian Ward is living out the classic joke:

What’s the favorite tourist slogan for those incarcerated in Minnesota?

    “Escape to Wisconsin!”

Then there’s this scene in the 2011 movie Contagion (begins at 0:24 in this YouTube video).

I had no idea Rosalind Cash was in The Omega Man. I’ll have to check it out as I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen that movie.

    Almost.

Thank you Kim K. I think in these uncertain times, it just might be time to resurrect this kind of comedy that can unite everyone again.

Also, great choice in closing with Pink Floyd’s “Fearless” from the Meddle album.
