The situation at the border is a hot mess. This week, we explain some of the ideas that President Trump has offered when it comes to the crisis at the Southern border. We also offer policy prescriptions on how to move the country and Congress forward on immigration reform. Helping us break it down is Dr. James Jay Carafano, a leading expert in national security and foreign policy challenges, and vice president of Heritage’s Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy and the E. W. Richardson Fellow.

Constructive comments from Dr. Carafano. But, is there anyone out there who actually believes Progressives who now run the Democrat Party would accept presidential election results based and won on a collection of border-securing solutions to specific issues? Progressives no longer accept outcomes of elections that are contrary to what they want. Just look at the last 30 months. The events behind Mueller only emphasize that we are at a point in the American political scene where even if there is an overwhelming public outcry, the Progressives just carry on oblivious to what the majority of Americans want.
