Your characterization of Ronald Reagan is outrageous. The most bald faced, shameless lie I’ve heard or read on Ricochet. I lived during Reagan’s administration, and I remember the flaming arrows he endured from the press, from Tip O’Neil himself, and even from his own party. Would either of you have endured 30% approval that Reagan did to bring inflation under control? I remember the whole world demonstrating against Reagan over his prosecuting the Cold War. Would you two let yourselves be the most hated man on the planet? If Reagan was the person you say he was, he wouldn’t have, and the Soviet empire would still enslave half the world, or more likely the vast majority of it by now.
I was agreeing with you until that.
I am inclined to think that I also disagree with Todd on this…though I guess I just went along.
Just checked. My soul’s still here.
You’re right. Removed. I shouldn’t have slimed bystanders.
This had to be as bad as Mona Charen bemoaning the evils of Trump. Besides the Reagan smear (seriously, this is coming off like the worst of the Obamabots claiming he will save the universe and transform all politics) to the extremely uncomfortable discussion on how to talk to your daughters (It came off like one of you was ranting about the lack of parental guidance from the other, and the line about politicians being an exact representative of 50%+1 of the population without any beliefs of their own was just ridiculous.
Why not ask your daughters, “If blacks are being targeted by police. Why don’t they move to Britain or Canada? That’s usually what oppressed people do.”
Happy to hear it. See if you can find Hillary’s while you’re at it. She could use one.
How do you know? (not doubting you…just I could use some verification myself sometimes).
Well, I still enjoy a good bourbon and cigar. That’s verification enough for me!
First folk music and now jazz flute? I know when I’m being trolled, @michaelstopa! And to add insult to injury, this is the second consecutive episode in which I was not name-checked during your “shower thoughts.” Harumpf!
Indeed.
I think this thread could be civil.
I enjoy the podcast and the challenging ideas presented, disagreeing with many of them.
If I agree with everything, I try to stop listening and get out of my bubble.
