Kris Kobach would be an excellent replacement for John Kelly at DHS. But I’m sure Juan McLame and Lindsey Grahamnesty would do everything to try and stop that from happening.
By the way, I won’t be getting that sausage and leather pants story out of my mind anytime soon.
Senator McCain, according to the doctors, may die soon. Do you really think it is decent to speak of him in this manner? No matter his vote.
Excellent Hidden Gem choice, Michael.. I have another Bonamassa album, a concert one, but I am going to have to find this one and add it to my iTunes library, Thanks. I am withholding any opinions on the event of the last few days until things have worked themselves out. Scaramucci was obviously a bad person for the job he was placed in officially. His removal from it was totally appropriate. If nothing else, it gives a good deal of credibility to General Kelly. Whether Trump will send out a tweet that damages these gains is yet to be seen. It would be in character. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen.
Thanks, Eugene. I pretty much stumbled on the Hart & Bonamassa recording. Really in love with it recently. I too will be looking for more.
As for Kelly and the Mooch…who knows?!?!
Amazing how often the cheerleading for Trump stops on this series and we get some pretty hard hitting criticism, isn’t it?
Can’t agree with Todd and the “one more vote” meme, however. One more vote from what? An anorexic repeal that represented maybe 10% of repeal promised to the voters (I know, a very naive metric) at a budget busting cost?
There are at least 15 GOP senators who simply don’t want to do anything fundamental to Obamacare or Medicaid.
McConnell did a fine job of giving these senators — especially Flake and Heller — some fig leaf votes.
Great show guys.
Is there a better metaphor for McConnell and Ryan’s charade on the ACA repeal than that sausage taped to thigh inside the leather pants?
I mean, which is the more ridiculous and phony and impotent act of sausage making?
didn’t think of that Q.V. Brilliant idea!
The light bulb thing was a law passed in 2006/2007 and signed by Bush, wasn’t it? In which case, not as easy to undo.
Things got pretty morose when Michael was going on about Korean armageddon and a stock market crash – c’mon man you are usually the cheerful one.
And Todd lost me on his lament that “even Boston doesn’t have a paper”. No one cares Todd. The internet and my once a week Buffalo, TX (population ~1900) newspaper published by my rancher neighbor give me all I need. The east and west coast hold no interest for me at all.
I just like the criticism of Trump and his administration didnt come off as smarmy and whiny as so many of the critics are about it.
I just believe that Trump wasnt pushed around but in the same way that W and Reagan he filled his cabinet and close positions to appease various parts of the party or as patronage payoffs. And in the same way that Haig came to bite into Reagans derrier did Reince fail to deliver.
Trump I think does a good job of rewarding those who deliver and punishing those who fail. Reince couldnt control leaks in the white house. I dont think he was the leaker but he couldnt manage things, so hes gone. Replaced by the person who has shut down the border. Someone who delivered.
Trump scolds Sessions publicly. Doesnt mean he wants him fired, just wants him to shape up. Now I am hearing Sessions doing things that will improve his job. Going after the Schools for being racist against Asians.
The old DC game doesnt work and Trump is trying different things.
