Welcome to the Harvard Lunch Club Political Podcast for August 29, 2017, it’s the Loving Trump’s Hate edition of the show, with your hosts Todd Feinburg, radio talk show host; and Mike Stopa, nanophysicist extraordinaire. This week, our special guest is Washington Examiner writer Emily Jashinsky who will tell us about all the slimy things you ever wanted to knowabout the Southern Poverty Law Center, that lovely group of self-absorbed, utterly humorless social justice fanatics. Please drop us a comment on Ricochet if only to welcome Emily to her first time on the show.

Next, we will talk about the things that Donald Trump hates. What really makes him angry (as opposed to the things where he thinks he is supposed to be angry)??? Yes, the media! Yes, CNN! Anything else? What makes him so engaging when he is out there punching away at the bad guys? Or do you think he is engaging? We will analyze.

We will have our shower thoughts (what, did you think we’d forget or something???) and our hidden gem is a shower gem this week, B.J. Thomas’ Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head.

Please go to iTunes or Stitcher or GooglePlay and give us a review. I kid you not. It really helps our sanity… which could certainly use it.

Ricochet Audio Network: what, did you think we’d forget or something???

    No, but you did.

After a weekend of personal virtue branding, libertarian bedwetting, hissy fitting and outrage over the pardon of the one major American law enforcement officer who at least attempted to enforce immigration law (perhaps in a signature obnoxious manner) at least we could look forward to an hour of common sense, sanity and a few chuckles, right?

I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder for the superb timely show you guys typically provide!

    Mike,

Completely agree that what we once thought was funny can lose its humor over time, but The Producers to me is still hilarious.

Old movie, still funny: Blazing Saddles. Could never be made today.

A somewhat obscure but politically incorrect film I like is a movie from 1989 named Collision Course, starring Jay leno and Pat Morita. It’s hilarious!

Kind Hearts and Coronets, while always a comic masterpiece, has gained even more luster as a metaphor for Donald Trump’s serial killing of the entire field of GOP incomparables and Hillary Clinton (who I now imagine in that suffragette balloon).

And all because the Washington establishment humiliated him at the 2011 White House correspondents dinner?

    That just doubles the fun!
