Angry White Men

Welcome to the Harvard Lunch Club Political Podcast for December 17, 2018 it’s the Angry White Men edition of the show #204 with your bitter clinger White Hosts, radio guy Todd Feinburg and AI guy Mike Stopa (the handsome one). This week we ask: if the Dems are the party of inclusion, then why is it that the top three candidates for the Dem Presidential nomination for 2020 are, so far, three gnarly white guys? We say: amend the Constitution so that Ocasio-Cortez can run!

Then, the Dems are planning what next to do with healthcare. Status quo? All out socialism or something in between? Who knows. We will discuss.

Out shower thoughts? Scintillating as always. Our hidden gem? from Mannheim Steamroller: Veni, Veni (Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel). Enjoy!

    Production values.

Mike Stopa should either get a good mic, or headsets with a mic.  He should stop using a speaker phone.  If he travels a lot and does the podcast on the road, then he should travel with his equipment.

Also keep in mind that podcasts are not just being played on cheap speakers and earbuds.  Bad quality mics really show up when the podcast is being played on good speakers, which is probably very common now with bluetooth being so ubiquitous.

It’s not equivalent to AM radio.

Ideally, guests, especially “progessional” podcast guests should also pay attention to how they sound in reference to what equipment they use.  But it’s especially important for hosts.

    Be professional.

So now we know that Feinburg is the Grinch.  Perhaps his photo is doctored to get rid of the green skin?  By the way, Veni Veni Emmanual is an Advent hymn so I greatly approve of its choice in this Advent season.

The “God Put Republican’s on Earth for one reason – to cut taxes” statement is from Robert Novak, and I miss his commentary. I’m glad you guys seem to agree. In my opinion Mike Stopa should become more widely known in conservative circles. You guys run one of the best podcasts here on Ricochet.

Thanks Joe! Great to hear that. Hope you can boost us on iTunes or the equivalent!

(and I just choked on Novak…I could see his face, remember that he was on a Sunday morning show but couldn’t come up with the name!).

    Hi Al,

I think I screwed up. I do have a good mic but I need to switch the skype input to that mic every time or else it defaults to the onboard mic, which is I think what happened. Let me know next time if it sounds better. (actually I’ll check as well).

Popular indeed is the “Make sure preexisting conditions are covered!” sentiment.

Would it be equally popular if we described it using another accurate and literal description–“Ban health insurance!”?

@MisterDog: Agree completely. Hint to other Ricochet podcasters – we love to hear back from you even occasionally.

Wouldn’t it be better if Hollywood just offered a list of roles that are available for sex?

Yes, with a list if specific expectations. Transparent, Hollywood style.
