In this very special episode of HWX, Brian Ward and Paul Happe reconvene to discuss the critical issues of the day. Show highlights include:

* We go “In the Bubble” with Trevor Noah and Van Jones as they try to imagine what an extreme Liberal might look like, and we try to imagine what an extreme Conservative might do.

* The new Trump budget is analyzed, and we try to figure out if a mere $1 billion is really worth fighting about. Plus exclusive audio from Steven Miller’s address at the PBS staff meeting where he announced the defunding and announces an alternative funding plan.

* Nancy Pelosi is featured planting the seeds and nurturing the seedlings of Fake News.

Was Trevor Noah really that dumb? I don’t watch him but it seems hard to believe that anyone is that stupid. Did anyone see the whole interview?

The talk about Van Jones got me thinking that CNN must love having a communist on staff. Surely he wouldn’t take more pay than the lowest paid worker on CNN’s staff or at best the median salary. He must be a true believer and not a “greedy capitalist” demanding a large salary like the other on-air talent.

Agreed. I briefly thought of Trump being a “closer” from the podcast title, so the parody of Glengarry Glen Ross was a welcome surprise. It’s priceless and makes me wish we could have a youtube of it – it would go viral. “Hot Chocolate is for closers”.

For those not familiar with the R rated source material…

As a Registered Nurse, I worry that “free health-care” will mean the government chains me to my nursing station as a slave.

    Hey, it could happen.

I loved the opening satire. I look askance at the two self-aggrandizing podcast titles “Smart Girls” and “Lady Brains.” They should have had better sense than to pick names like that.

I loved it too. When I heard the line that Ricochet was going to offer a new podcast that goes where no Ricochet podcast has gone, I wondered if it was going to be one featuring support for Trump.

There are a couple of podcasts with open Trump supporters. The Harvard Lunch Club podcast for one. Even the Three Martini Lunch podcast has be generally supportive.
