Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
This is the GLoP Culture Podcast description for episode #156, published on 11/30/20. We record Jonah Goldberg, Rob Long, and John Podhoretz on a software application that enables real time communication over the internet and discuss topics mostly drawn from pop culture: music, TV, movies, theater. Sometimes they stray into politics because they are first and foremost pundits. Occasionally, they make silly and sophomoric jokes. There may even be a couple in this very podcast. Thank you for listening.

A simple explanation for Sydney Powell: she was taken advantage of by a highly plausible but totally fake tech whistleblower.
If another lawyer had tried to scam her, he would probably have failed; but this was far outside her area of expertise.
Neat idea.
I think people are getting crazier because they lack religion.
When taken in context, at least Sidney Powell didn’t allege anything as wacky as the Biden Campaign colluding with the Russians to win the 2020 election ….. probably because no one would ever believe such a far fetched fantasy hoax in the first place.
It sounds like they liked it when Dave Chappelle thinks out of the box, but they were never big fans of when Donald Trump thought out of the box. Sure, there might have been exceptions like the pro-Israel stuff.
Even though most conservatives weren’t big fans of Donald Trump in 2015, I think that President Trump even with constant attacks and investigations against him helped cut through a lot of the BS one-way Leftist thinking that surrounds Washington, DC.
1)Trump completely depantsed the MSM as card carrying members of the DNC.
2)Trump revealed the concept of a “deep state” DC permanent bureaucracy wielding actual power over the machinations at the highest levels of the Federal Government is not a tin foil hat conspiracy theory.
3)Trump revealed the FISA Court, which was established after 911 in an effort to prevent terrorist attacks, as well as our DOJ/FBI/IC/Special Counsel Office can be abused by the political party in power against their political opponent by simply voting in a corrupt (D) President willing to use 2) above and then hide behind 1) when 1) abandons the traditional role and responsibilities of the Fourth Estate for a functioning Democratic Republic.
Ensorcelled?
It’s a perfectly cromulent word.
Re: the movie going habit, if you’re relying on people’s habit to use your product then you should do a long hard self evaluation to understand why your product isn’t standing on it’s own.
Look, government shutting down theaters is an exogenous problem, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the lockdowns deplete cash reserves such that the businesses are forced into bankruptcy. But if a theater survives and they can’t get custom because their customers have reevaluated the value proposition then that’s nobody else’s fault. ‘Cept maybe the movie producers.
This office contraction thing does seem like it could be the end to We Work.
