We know, we know: we just put out a GLoP a few days ago. But with Rob in Africa, Jonah trapped in Austin, and John wrapped up in selling merch, we were not able to pull one together earlier in an already short month, so we spent our Sunday morning creating premium content for you. Just some of the topics covered in this GLoP for the ages: the worst Jewish characters in movies, a look a the trials and tribulations of Andrew Cuomo and Anthony Fauci, we defend some maligned movies (h/t @jameslileks), and whatever you do, do not skip through the second spot. That’s all we’ll say about that.

Correct, although @jameslileks admonished me for not using the OG Bent Fabric version.
I don’t think John’s point is that the economy will come roaring back due to Joe Biden’s incredible leadership. My interpretation is that widespread vaccinations are going to allow the economy to come back, not that it’s anything in particular that Biden is doing. And being that a lot of voters think that booms, busts, and everything in between is a direct result of the president’s actions, Biden is going to get the credit.
It’s like Clinton’s lucky timing. We were already coming out of a recession when Bill Clinton first won election. And we were heading into another one before Clinton left office. But since the timing of those recessions roughly correlated to Clinton’s presidency, a lot of people who don’t pay much attention figure it was Clinton’s genius that got us out of a recession and when George W. Bush took over, he must have caused us to go into another one.
I totally agree with you, by the way, that the recovery would have been stronger under Trump than it will be with Biden’s policies.
