The entire discussion doesn’t paint the rosiest of pictures about our overall Civics & Civic Education but it may not be as bad as I feared. I was happy to hear this at 14:20:
Also, that’s a very interesting point at 21:12 to consider that maybe our civics classes actually shouldn’t be so government-centered. I disagree there should be less of the Federalist Papers because I don’t think they’re actually focused on much and I think it’s what gives the proper context to learning our Constitution. But the point is well-taken and I’d have to say I agree with the sentiment that civics is more than just the innerworkings of government.
