Law Talk reaches a middle-age milestone of 50 episodes and celebrates by opening up the floor to questions from Ricochet members. Who made the cut and who didn’t? We could tell you but why ruin the suspense. You’ll have to tune in to find out.

EJHill, you have some explaining to do about that cake.

Group Captain Mandrake is a striking name indeed, but it isn’t from a British show. It’s one of Peter Seller’s characters in Dr Strangelove.

I think you are confusing Law Talk with GLoP. There is no anecdote about Bruce Paltrow on this show.

David Guaspari: The MP3 seems to be defective — a few minutes of silence replaced Richard Epstein’s anecdote about Bruce Paltrow. Is there a transcript? · 58 minutes ago

Re Constitutional amendments; how about all laws sunset after a 20 years? It seems like among the many problems of the republic is the accumulating cruft of thousands of laws passed annually that never go away, and are often only enforced at bureaucratic convenience. One would think government would shrink if laws were expiring as new ones were being added. If we had to reauthorize the EPA, FCC, FDA, etc every couple decades I would think that would be a great opportunity define their scope.
