I love Irshad (for years) though I would like to add woke to the list of labels to be avoided. There is no conversation going on in society. Maybe on social media, but that seems to be nothing more than argument using words for which there is no longer agreed upon meaning. I happen to be a lesbian from the 1970s, back in the days of emerging radical feminism and separatism, which later morphed into lipstick lesbians and gays coming out on TV, and, to me, that same contrast is reflected in today’s leftish intersectionality. I edit university press books, and from what I read, being queer is coming to mean that having pets is bad and that waves should have rights. The demands will never stop in the world.

We need to quit with the perfectionism and demands for dogma, and that’s what is inherent in trying to guilt people into believing what they do not believe, which is almost always the context in which someone uses the term woke.

BTW, if Jane Fonda is brilliant, Trump is a gentleman.

BTW, I wrote this before Irshad referred to Fonda as Trumpian!

I would like to thank the Femsplainers for their consumer warning about the new Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

I stopped buying it several years ago when they began to include so-called “plus size” models. Some things you can’t unsee! Now I realize it’s not safe even to look at the cover at the newsstand.
