Excellent discussion. I think the one gentleman is entirely too trusting of government power and the idea that a voting population will be able to keep its freedom. I think one of the reason we continue to have a robust non-governmental society in America is because of the Second Amendment. The fact that the populace can defend its freedom with more than the ballot box keeps government in check. Witness the difference between the US and Europe.
