On this episode of “The Federalist Radio Hour,” Federalist Political Editor John Daniel Davidson joins Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky to discuss why, despite the Biden administration’s firm denial, there is indeed a crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border and how it can be stopped.

That was really good. It needs to be passed around.

A new problem with the Democrats’ immigration policy that I’ve never thought of before.

Illegals who owe money to the cartels will be legalized by the Biden administration, and then eligible to take sensitive positions, like clerical work in law enforcement.  Indeed, it would violate civil rights laws to deny them those jobs.

Then, to pay off their debts, they will act as spies for the cartels.

For a stark visual and narrative telling of how powerful Mexican drug cartels rule the border and control the business of allowing illegal immigrants to cross into the United States (oftentimes serving the dual purpose of carrying illegal drugs across the border as well), several episodes of the National Geographic Channel’s recent documentary series Narco Wars are worth watching. As the podcast guest states, illegal border crossings are a multi-billion dollar industry for the cartels that control the border. They use this money to acquire military grade weapons and elite training (many cartel members are former Mexican special forces soldiers) to fight the other cartels trying to take control of the border. The scale of violence is staggering. If you have cable, you can watch Narco Wars for free on the NatGeo website:

The reality is – no one illegally crosses the US southern border without paying and getting the permission of Mexican drug cartels. Buy illegal drugs – you help pay for illegal weapons, murder, and human trafficking. Support illegal immigration – you support the Mexican drug cartels.
