He’s optimistic because he never has to work another day in his life, has absolutely zero responsibilities, jets around the world on a whim, and still thinks Cheers was actually a good show.
I thought Cheers was a great show. But I think you are on to something with your other points.
I haven’t listened to this one, but after all these years of listening to Rob on GLoP Culture and The Ricochet Podcast I have never gotten the impression that Rob is that well off. I didn’t know he jets around the world on a whim, I’ve heard him talk about driving cross country in a Subaru. Does Rob Long reveal in this podcast that he is incredibly rich?
“Online resources estimate Rob’s net worth to be $5 Million.” https://factsbuddy.com/rob-long/
Which seems very modest for a Hollywood TV writer/producer active for decades.
Obviously Rob voted for Hilary and Biden. Frankly this wasn’t too insightful.
I guess you haven’t been listening very closely because in addition to being in New Orleans, Florida, California, and New York multiple times over the last year, he’s also been in Paris and Hungary with a stopover in Italy where he broadcast a Ricochet episode. He also doesn’t seem to have any kind of meaningfully consistent employment which leads me to conclude he is living off the profits he made from Cheers which appears to have been his only real success. Can you name another? His choice of cars to drive should also set off warning flags, though I was under the impression he preferred an electric one these days.
Well, I’d say $5 Million is pretty darn good for someone who appears to have been involved really with only one successful show (Cheers) and who doesn’t seem to have been consistently employed for several years.
