I’ve also noticed that the establishment wing of the Republican Party, as represented by Mitch McConnell, believes in unilateral disarmament.
Thus we see the McConnell-led Senate Republicans treating Democratic nominees with kid gloves, in spite of the way Republican nominees were treated for the last four years.
This is why, as the panelists point out, Trump is vastly more popular with the Republican base than McConnell is.
