As circumstances with the COVID-19 virus develop minute by minute, Dave took the opportunity to talk with Ricochet icon, member Doc Jay. As expected, the good Doctor was not at a loss for words, wisdom, expertise, or a little mischievous fun, as he assesses the growth of the virus and what we may expect in terms of containment and treatment.

Ricochet Member Old Bathos stops by for a discussion that ranges from Irish traditions to what it’s like being one of Ricochet’s moderators.  Finally, lest you fear that things are getting too serious on the program, Ross Perot has some thoughts he’d like to share on the current madness (though we recommend putting down your drink while listening to this segment).

Finally, if you’re listening to Dave’s show, but you’re not a Ricochet member, there is a way you can get a 30 day free trial membership. Tune in to learn more!

Thanks so much for @DocJay, the most missed member ever. I read every single thing he ever wrote, some posts of which made me cry and some made me laugh out loud. Does anyone have any knowledge of why he no longer graces us with his presence on our site? He says he’s retired at 54? No man with that much intellectual energy can possibly do nothing, so I’m curious about what he’s really doing.

As long as he doesn’t come into contact with Gamma rays, I’m good.

Glad you enjoyed the proceedings!!  It was great to chat with Doc. He’s doing well, and I have a feeling he isn’t exactly listless,…but he is enjoying focusing on family and friends at the moment.

Yes,  exactly that.  It was like visiting with family.  Which, come to think of it, was the case with every single Ricochet gathering I’ve ever attended. Once all this is over with, perhaps we should think of having another gathering!

Of course “nitwittery” is a word. If you’ve used it, and I’ve used it …

Every few months or so, I do a little Googling for the errant Doc Jay, and then I find out that Dave had him trapped under a rock.  Looking forward to listening.

Great podcast as usual. But I’m worried that Alphonse has the Wuhan Virus or is he still, ahem, celebrating the LSU win. I mean Ross is great but Alphonse is the man.

Thanks so much!! It was fun putting it together as always.  And I’d very much enjoy taking in a hockey game!

Alphonse thinks Souther Comfort will inoculate him from the virus. He’ll be back though.

In large enough quantities, it will do the job before the virus can.

It was great to hear from Jay, and also to hear Old Bathos’ voice.
