You excluded probably the best overall conservative book of the year and that is Jonah Goldberg’s Suicide of the West. You also excluded Reihan Salam’s Melting Pot or Civil War. That alone makes this list unreliable. You included Jeanine Piro, Tucker Carlson, and Dinesh D’Souza, and Gregg Jarrett. That makes this list less than worthless.

These are the “top” books, i.e., the ones that sold the most and made the biggest splash. Not the same as the list of “best” books (especially considering that top liberal book is the worst book on that list). Lists don’t have to follow your or my lead to be worth something.

“The Conservative Book Club Editorial Review Board selected the books for this year based on a combination of overall impact, sales, influence, what CBC members enjoyed reading the most this year!”  You might as well complain the People’s Choice Awards left out the year’s arthouse favorites.

After the greatness of Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism, I confess I was underwhelmed by the extracts from Suicide I encountered in various conservative publications, both paper and online.  His observations, this time, struck me as trite and obvious.

My own pick for Honorable Mention would be Heather MacDonald’s The Diversity Delusion.
