How have ’80s-born millennial conservatives changed from the 2008 election to the 2016 election? We talked to Meghan McCain to find out. We also asked about her father, Sen. John McCain, and her friendship with Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. She talked about Obamacare with Neal and Jay as well as her departure from her radio show and her full-time gig with Fox News on the show “Outnumbered.”

And how is daddy? I see he’s accusing Rand Paul of being a Putin stooge. Please tell him to resign, he will end up being a joke as his mind fades.

They’re all Putin stooges! For the record, I had Jeff Sessions pegged as a Russian agent years ago.

I’m not familiar with the Fox show “Outnumbered,” but if Mehgan McCain is representative perhaps “Outnumbered and Outgunned” would be more apt.

Meghan “I consider myself a progressive Republican” McCain?

Why in the world would anyone listen to this…?

This is RIDICULOUS! That anybody gives this idea any space in their brain is madness.

BTW, have you noticed that new thing this year is the “Russian Scare”.

27-year-old Millennial’s opinion on “different types of millennials”- the differences come from how early in their life they discovered the internet. Early eighties millennials didn’t spend middle school chatting on AIM, while late-eighties-to-mid-nineties millennials did. Late-nineties-to current millennials have been managing Facebook/Instagram/Tumblr pages since middle school, and had cameraphones since then. Cameraphones introduce the ability/pressure to send nudes to each other.

Millennial opinion on “what millennials think about Obamacare”- most young folks are generally apolitical. The 24-7 TOTAL DEFCOM ONE HYSTERIA the media’s created around Trump has everyone focused on politics, but the apolitical thought seems generally confined to “huh, seems like big stuff is going on, but since the media’s been freaking out over everything and the world’s gone on fine, I’m just gonna tune them out, but have a gnawing anxiety about it.” The political millennials are mostly disappointed Bernie supporters. The activist lefty ones are now posting on Facebook about their friend with pre-existing conditions who “would be dead without Obamacare”, but everyone got sick of Facebook during the election, so the rest of us just tune them out. The non-activist lefty ones just make occasional posts about his misogyny. Everyone makes jokes about Trump, because he’s hilarious.

I agree and I’m starting to think that Ricochet is more center left than center right… not happy!

I enjoyed this episode a great deal. I thought it was interesting how Ms. McCain’s opinions have changed as she has gotten older. I saw a lot of parallels to my own life. Well done gents.

It’s the first time I’ve listened. It’s confirming to me that never-trumpism has the effect of pushing one towards the left.

And it’s great to hear that those of us who have known Lindsay Graham since we were little kids think he’s a swell fella!

There’s a whole industry of people devoted to explaining why they had gotten it wrong before and how they’ve gotten it right now.

To be fair I don’t think Ricochet is center-left, but they do seem to bend over backwards to bring on guests and writers who are establishment or moderate (call it what you want) conservatives, rather than the folks who reside a bit farther on the right side of the spectrum. I don’t think they get together in meetings and plan it that way lol, I think it’s a reflection of the editorial staff and podcast hosts, they’re simply not as far right as a whole lot of the members on here. I’ve seen it play out again and again in debates on here, and I’m happy to report that it’s (more or less) stayed a fairly civil debate.

Personally I don’t like it and it’s not something I’m willing to pay money for.

These are the Charlie Browns who keep wanting to play nice with the Democrats and are always surprised when the football gets pulled away.
