Saying they are erring on the side of safety, without giving the caveats, is a polite way of saying they are lying.
I don’t care that you won’t cry for me if I get COVID and drop dead. It’s none of your business. But you are having to wear masks because you have a moron, that you elected, for a mayor. I’ve not worn a mask or been locked down for the whole duration of the pandemic. That you put up with it says more about you than it says about me. You sound like one of those people who would mask and undergo lockdown whether it was required or not.
