Joe Biden is finally made to account for his side of the story today on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” What kind of impact will the controversy involving allegations of sexual assault involving a Senate staffer have on the media landscape, to say nothing of the 2020 race?

I lose track of the voices… Was it Noah that said that this may have been a fantasy that over the years became a memory?

I have no more information about what happened between Tara Reid and Joe Biden than anyone else has. (possibly less because I havent devoured every single news story on this topic) but to cite the possibility that a (possible) rape victim fantasized the encounter is well beyond anywhere a civil conversation should go. You’re not a therapist, psychologist, you haven’t examined Tara Reid – you should not raise this as a possibility unless you absolutely know its a possibility. IF this had been said about any of the Kavanaugh accusers, you know its the kind of statement that Media Matters would fry you all in oil for. Dont give them the ammunition. I would hope that you’re smarter than this.

I know its an allegation, and may not be true. Due to the statute of limitation it will not be fully adjudicated in a court, so we may never know with absolute certainty what happened. But on the balance of character – of seeing how Joe Biden has interacted with women over the years – I give this allegation the weight of being true. Far far more than any of the silly crap that was flung at Kavanaugh.
