Biden is probably the best of the Democrats which is not saying much. It would make for some grossly funny debates with Joe threatening to take Trump out to the woodshed and Trump calling him heaven only knows what! How did we get into this mess?

In the Conway affair, the villain is George Conway. He started the thing by publicly betraying his wife. To embarrass your wife in public is a terrible betrayal. And it is not just one unthinking time; he has done it over and over again. Trump, in his own crass way, is defending his subordinate. While Trump cheated on his wife, at least he had the chivalrous instinct to try to keep it a secret.

This is one of the few times where Trump is almost a gentleman.

I am a married guy. I would never, ever start a public feud with my wife’s employer. I could not dream of putting her in that position.

It is great to say this some sort of beyond reality TV thing, that Trump is somehow Stalinesque for requiring loyalty to him be above the loyalty to your spouse. It simply does not reflect the facts/ timeline as I understand it.

George Conway created this mess. George Conway put politics, or the personality of a politician, above his family.
