How come Continetti did not include his pals at “the Bulwark” in his articles about “the left of the right”?
Line of the week: “If you’ve had your third strike, it’s time for you to go somewhere else.” (John)
Amen.
The left was/is fond of emphasizing the hapless guys whose 47th arrest was for stealing a pizza and who got sent away for 25 to life. In California, the reason that happened was because petty theft with a prior was a felony, and thus could be someone’s third felony, third strike. I thought they could have adjusted it so that the third felony would need to be a “stand alone” felony, i.e., something that would be a felony even if the person had no priors. Better to adjust it than toss it out completely. Also, California had an effective “Use a gun, go to jail” for 10 years law. You’d see the signs at convenience stores. That’s call enforcing gun laws, and they should go back to it.
Probably because the guys at Commentary are lately sufficiently critical of people on the right (not much to say about the other side) as to be regarded as team Bulwark by proxy!
