Today’s podcast discusses what it means that the Oscars were so badly executed, whether we’re about to be released from having to wear masks outside, and what John Kerry told the Iranians that should have him hauled up before the Senate Intelligence Committee. Give a listen.

John Kerry’s giving state secrets about Israel to Syria and Iran, but at least we don’t have the bad tweets

I remember Cheever’s The Chaste Clarissa differently.

Clarissa’s husband was off fighting the war. The protagonist was therefore a real cad for attempting to seduce her.

After trying all of his tricks she continues to reject him. He does manage to get her to go the beach with her. They sit silently for some time, and then she comments that some big rocks in the water had grown larger. He figures she is talking about the tide going down so he explains the tide phenomenon to her. Clarissa tells him that isn’t right, the rocks had grown bigger.

Cad thinks for a second and tells her she is the smartest women he has ever met.

    That does the trick.

In other words, if Donald Trump had exercised self-discipline, he would likely have won reelection.

Pretty sure JPod has used that story to illustrate a point several times before. It sounded awfully familiar.
