Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
Today’s podcast continues our conversation from yesterday about the Jeff Bezos expedition and the hunger among elite liberals to heap scorn and derision upon it, him, and the very idea of technological progress. Why? And are there really breakthrough infections? And what can we learn from Eric Adams, NYC mayoral candidate, and his commonsensical neocon remarks? Give a listen.

I have a bit of a quibble with Noah at the end of the podcast. The “culture war” or whatever you want to term it is real as is the cancelling of conservative viewpoints in many fields. I am a history teacher and I know that if it was know I was a Republican or a conservative I would be relieved of my duties; it has almost happened as some of my colleagues and students said they did not feel safe. Only the fact that I had been teaching there for over 15 years and my work in the community saved my job. So Noah you may be safe working for Commentary in an office where almost everyone shares your world view but I work where nobody shares my world view and their goal is to cancel that world view. Many of you on this podcast and your fellow travellers like Jonah, David et al who all work in nice little silos need to realized that out here this is real. One can. walk and chew gum at the same time….the conservative movement can. address this “war” and budget/saftey issues etc. at the same time.
Now that said…I do agree with Noah’s point that the Republican Party must not put all its eggs in the culture war basket…there are 30-40% of African Americans/Hispanics and even some in the gay community who are conservative that are just waiting for the Republican Party to make a case…the party needs to walk and chew gum at the same time.
I have to say this one more time though…this culture war is real and Commentary does no service to the conservative movement by dismissing it just because you and your fellow travellers in are protected from it.
Very much enjoy the Podcast and magizine…I am actually a paying customer!!
