I dont recall an Edison joke, thats just my version…
But I do have a new appreciation for all things 1971.

3M btw, has (of 2019) 100 000 patents. The most significant products it makes are not post it notes. It maybe the thing most familiar as a household good – but it makes plenty of workplace safety and fire safety stuff that are way more significant than post it notes.
