The Republican Party’s nominating convention has been efficiently produced and effective at communicating to conservatives why they should come home to the GOP. That combined with declining concern over the pandemic and ongoing violent crime in even small American cities seems to have unnerved Democrats.

This is what I was hoping for. Trump is saying you don’t have to like him or approve of him to vote for him and letting me vote against Biden. I wish he had done this a lot sooner. Let the Republican Party shine. It is not all about him.

good case made in this podcast that Trump doing well with the convention.    But voters still will have serious doubts as to Trump’s ability to govern the nation.  The virus response has been poor. There is no Trump admin official who is talking to the public on a weekly basis, answering questions, providing info on treatment, testing, progress of vaccine.    On the riots, no effective response from Trump. How is it that rioters in Portland and Kenosha are not being rounded up and placed in confinement?  Where is the FBI investigation and prosecution of Antifa leaders and facilitators?    And blame the deep state all you want.  But why is Trump not able to co-opt Washington policy experts and administrators?  Politics is a team sport.

All right, who kidnapped the Commentary bunch and substituted brainwashed Trumpers?  They even got to Noah and threw in Matt Continetti for good measure.  Amazing.
