Outgoing President Donald Trump issues two final insults to the American people on his way out the door by throwing a wrench into negotiations over a new COVID relief bill when the deal is already done and by pardoning three convicted former Republican officeholders. Also, Christine’s adventures in music, John and Abe’s take on film, and Noah’s abject dullness. Give a listen, and we’ll see you all in the new year.

I have never been a fan of Trump even though I voted for him in 2020, but saying he is doing this just to get attention is very unfair and doesn’t make any sense. I believe Trump knows that $600 is paltry because it is paltry. The Democrats got all their pork in the Omnibus Bill and are now stiffing the American people in the crucial Stimulus Bill. They are the ones who are unconscionable and I turned the podcast off when Jpod started his awful ridicule of Trump’s motives.

Yeah I view it more as Trump trying to score the win when Democrats halved the original offer.

Parting insult?  How about one last attempt to help the American people, more than however many there might be in Pakistan who need US funds to figure out what gender they are?

I’m sure John Podhoretz doesn’t need $2,000 or even $600.  And he’s free to send it back as a voluntary additional payment with his 2020 tax return, or donate it to his favorite Hebrew school or summer theater camp or whatever.

But as someone who needs $2,000 a lot more than I need $600, JPod and the rest of the group can just STFU.

I think the “One Last Parting Insult” was Commentary’s insult to the working class before they finally reveal themselves as shills for the oligarchy. I agree with Kedavis.

While Trump’s pardons are a mixed bag of deserved and why him? ….. A “pardon” given to an individual who has already been convicted in a court of law, served time in prison, been bankrupted, and publicly humiliated is more ceremonial than legally consequential.
