John Podhoretz, Abe Greenwald, and Noah Rothman essay the near future of the Democratic Party contest and wonder whether Bernie Sanders’s victories are a sign of Hillary Clinton’s weakness or rather represent a free vote due to her strength. The Facebook suppression of conservative media raises the question of whether in a populist age, Facebook itself may look like a trust in need of a trust-busting.

And — what to watch and not watch on TV and at the movies!

Enjoyable podcast as always.  However, I am concerned about the proposed anti-trust remedy for Facebook, and suggesting a “government force” solution to a private entity by threatening anti-trust break-up ignores free market principles.   AT&T was a government protected monopoly.   Facebook has plenty of competitors, most Millennials are moving on to Instagram and other on-line services for connecting with their friends.  Once parents and grandparents started using Facebook, teens desperately sought alternatives.

The free market will legitimately punish Facebook.   If there are examples of trending news which was legitimately kept out of Facebook trending news bring attention to it.  Hillary’s e-mail servers? Let everyone know Facebook is biased and destroy Facebook’s brand.   However, do not threaten illegitimate anti-trust break-up.  The only trusts that the government should ever break-up are government oligopolies / monopolies.   Microsoft was threatened in the 90s.   They were cocky and a pain to work with.  They knew they had market control of the PC operating system.  Look at it 20 years later.  Who cares about the PC?  Google and Apple made the computer mobile and handheld.   Software developers hated developing for Microsoft.  They now create software apps instead of Windows program.  Software is done in the cloud.   Remember the free-market will always punish bad actors on its own.  We don’t need to pay a government to do it.  Don’t empower the anti-trust government guys in D.C. or Brussels.
