Wow! You guys can’t even get that right. She lost by 54,723 votes — for the OPPORTUNITY to go to a run-off election as the Republican won 50.2% of the vote.
Normally, I won’t be too harsh, but there are apparently two more statewide Georgia run-off elections to happen soon, unless the final votes change slightly.
While I no longer live in Georgia—and I haven’t listened to this quite yet—I often notice this crew don’t really understand Georgia politics at all… like when poor JPod couldn’t get the senators straight! I think that just proves it’s not possible to know what’s going on across the nation beyond the broad strokes. I mean… I honestly have no idea about NY or DC voters/elections/leaders….
Yeah, but I’m not a professional, and I’ve never been to Georgia except for an hour or two at the airport back when Eastern Airlines still existed…
It’s possible to know things on the statewide level or even in my home state of Missouri which is rather simple — two Democrat metro areas at each side of the state with one rather rapidly-trending Democrat county in the middle where the University of Missouri is located. Even a Far Left state like Rhode Island, has the Trump city of Johnston, the place with the highest percentage of Italian Americans while New York state has Staten Island and eastern Long Island.
We lived in Missouri (Columbia) for 11 years.
Unless demographics have changed, the Springfield/Joplin/Branson area is much larger than Columbia/Jeff City area and was, at least when we were there, much more conservative and Republican leaning.
Columbia, Missouri, with the university has been trending to the Democrats recently, but Springfield as the third-largest city in the state is one of the most conservative places in the country with its religious colleges. The only Democrat that Springfield’s Greene County was voted for president in the last 70 years was Lyndon Johnson; it voted for Truman, FDR, and Wilson at least once, but then you have to go back to James Buchanan which was the Republican Party’s first election before Lincoln.
Branson is located in Taney County which I don’t think has voted for a Democrat since Lincoln’s first election in 1860 when the county’s boundaries were probably slightly different.
