Today we say a fond farewell to our colleague Noah Rothman, who is off to National Review. We do so by discussing his favorite recent story, the continuing balloon madness. Then we move onto debilitated senators and what to do about them, and the astounding filing by Dominion Voting Systems in its case against Fox News. Give a listen.

Noah was very good.  Had a basic intelligent approach to what he had to say.  Kind of worrying that smart is in such short supply that the podcast might be diminished without him.

Too bad nothing on Palestine, Ohio.   Maybe congress can put aside Hunter Biden and classified documents for a while and have freight train executives and operators appear for a round of questioning.   Find out if union work rules are preventing train crews from being adequately supervised.   Republicans have joined in the populist push to give union train workers all they have asked for in terms of pay and time off.  Could that be the reason for the recent train derailments?

OK, so let me get this right, a defamation case is moving forward about election machines. What about the Russian collusion narrative and the vaccs are “safe and effective” when clearly from the beginning they knew they weren’t.

It was mentioned that looking into the origins of a lot of things seem to be dropped and no one can get to the bottom of anything. Yet this Dominion one is the thing that interests you? This is nothing but cooperate lawfare you are playing along with.

Before I get accused of what-aboutism, my point is: No news reporting or commentary is held accountable unless it’s on the right side of “the powers that be”. I have little patience for spotty justice when there is so much BS “floating” out there not being “shot down” as well…
    I couldn’t boo that segment harder…

    To build off of @stephenrichter

Nothing on Ohio, in addition to union rules, I’ve heard some shocking things like Norfolk Southern trying to get residence to sign some document removing them of legal recourse. I’ll attach the video of Vance talking about it if I can find the clip.

you just know the Feds want to blame this entirely on the rail company.   The public has to demand to be told exactly what happened.  Great opportunity for republicans to be the good guys and hold hearings on rail safety.

It would be a fine line to walk and I don’t think republicans have the skill to navigate it. The problem with investigating this fully, which I agree should happen, is it will revile the downsides to the union/administrative state/fed collusion in the industry. They would ultimately be stepping on large voting blocks to solve the problem.

I don’t think there is a unifying figure with the right principles to get everyone on the same page. The page that we do need to bust unions, get rid of the administrative state and replace it with more transparent “commonsense” regulations, that can be challenged outside of the regulatory body that enforces them.

Sadly, because nothing is really going to come of it, the unions and regulatory agencies surrounding this incident will probably come out stronger on the other side. Without being held accountable now, they will feel even more emboldened to continue their shenanigans.

But I agree, it is an opportunity and there could be some REAL political fallout over this and it’s weird these guys aren’t commenting on it… It’s going to come up on the campaign trail. ESPECIALLY if the Trans secretary decides to put his hat in the presidential election again…

Personally, I’m more offended when people on “my side” lie then when people on the other side lie.  I like to think I’m on the good side and they other guys are the villains.

I couldn’t agree less with that over this specific case.
    1. By playing into this you are discrediting “your side”. So in the future no one will listen. The other side of the isle lies all the time and does not get held accountable, and continues to be the gold standard of truth.
    2. The reason the left is so large and mainstream partly has to do with less infighting. Like it or not, FOX Tucker types are the Republican/right side and no one is giving us any points by making a big deal about this. It’s only hurting us in the long run. Does this mean we can’t call it out? No, but the outrage needs to be proportional to the crime.
    3. digital voting machines of any kind should not be used. It opens up too many liabilities that are too difficult to audit. Counting by hand with party reps from both sides is the only secure way. I know this isn’t what they were arguing specifically about, but letting a voting machine company walk all over you is a loss for fare elections.

Again, I sense some what-aboutism, but hurting our own side when the other has damaged the integrity of journalism, political conversation, society and my freedom and no one is getting to the bottom of that; it’s repulsive to hear purity circle type arguments…
