The COMMENTARY podcast explores the nearly universal outrage over the Wisconsin GOP’s effort to reclaim power from the incoming Democratic governor, which, while tawdry, falls short of a “coup.” The hosts diagnose the lack of recent historical perspective that led political observers into apoplexy. Also, signs the Democratic 2020 primary will descend into the intersectional Olympics.

The Democrats in Wisconsin are evil though.

They used the power of the state to harass and arrest Republican supporters of Scott Brown. Which I notice you dont mention.

This is outrageous and every prosecutor and cop and judge involved should have been tried for treason for behaving as the Gestapo. When SWAT teams use no knock warrants to target the political opposition, they crossed the line.

People familiar with my posts here are probably going to be very surprised at this, but I have no problem whatsoever with lame-duck power grab tactics. If anything, they’re exactly what we need in order to encourage legislatures in general to take power back from the executive.
