Political analyst and all-around great guy Chris Stirewalt joins the podcast today to discuss the bet he made with me on Election Day he won—because I swallowed the conventional wisdom about the midterms and he didn’t. We try to figure out what Donald Trump is doing by saying the white governor of Virginia has a Chinese-sounding name, among other kinds of crazy stuff. Give a listen.

You talk about the Trumpers not being able to do GOTV.  From what I’ve seen, that’s true.  All they care about is election integrity.  They expect massive cheating and all their efforts are amateurish counter measures to that cheating.  There are real election problems, but nowhere near on the scale that Trump says there is.  When “establishment” Republicans try to address the real issues, non-Republicans claim it’s a Trump fantasy and so are often able to defeat the reforms.  So Trump has made it harder to improve elections.

Kevin Williamson had it right when he called Donald Trump a witless ape.  Truer words were never spoken or written.

Tucker made a big deal last night about Democrats using ballot harvesting to swing votes in their favor.  Said 85% of too close to call elections eventually are won by democrat after election officials get involved.   Establishment republican commentators can only complement democrats on their ground game.

what are those election problems?  Could someone in the republican establishment media report on this please.  WSJ does not touch the topic.  Are paid operatives allowed to bring a ballot to a voter?  Can they complete the ballot except for the signature?  Can the operative deliver a completed ballot to a drop off box or polling station?    Tucker says that is what they do.   When I vote in NJ there are no partisan operatives allowed anywhere near the polling station.  Should be the same hands off rule with all forms of voting.

How is that the republican media do not report on what goes on with the mail in ballot system?
