Nancy Pelosi pushed for an won the House vote to impose cap-n-trade in 2009. It went no where in the Senate. It likely cost Democrats many seats in the 2010 elections. But she survived that debacle.
I can usually make it all the way through these daily rants. Today, was not such a day. When Podhoretz goes off on a bender on what he thinks Trump believes or wants it is bad enough. There are plenty of overpaid bloviators I can turn to. When he claims that Trump does not observe or care about the law, he is so demonstrably wrong -and slanderous- that it is too much to take, Podhoretz really needs to refer to VDH to get the straight dope on Trump.
Noah’s a bit misguided. It’s not payback for places that didn’t vote for him. Minnesota has already requested federal funds for Minneapolis. If granted, it sets precedent that Democrats can just let this happen.
Just so. Using federal funds to repair the self-inflicted destruction of a local jurisdiction, when such destruction could have been stopped by local police if allowed to perform their duties backed up by the local officials and judiciary, would set a terrible precedent. I am even reluctant to use federal resources for many natural disasters, at least the type that are obviously knowable and predictable, and where the local jurisdictions have plenty of time to prepare for and mitigate the damage. But for the wanton destruction at the hands of Democrat-supported Antifa and BLM looters/rioters/arsonists? Not. One. Dime.
