Christine articulated what I had been thinking while listening to Tyler Cowen on Dan Senor’s show Tuesday. As a recently retired teacher of 11th grade English, I agree with her about the importance of the writing process as vital to developing thought. As for homework, you might see what they call a “flipped classroom,” where kids watch recorded lessons at home and then demonstrate their skills (complete assignments) in class.
