Has the Biden campaign succumbed to a false sense of complacency around the state of the 2020 race? There is still a lot of game left to play and events yet to occur that will alter the trajectory of the race, but is the Democratic candidate nimble enough to meet them?

Abe Christine John & Noah,
Let’s get to the point. Biden was nimble enough to be Obama’s token white VP. Of course, many modern androids have surpassed this rudimentary level of nimbleness. At that time, his gaff rate was about 1 major gaff every two months. He has deteriorated considerably since those days. His gaff rate is now very close to 1 major gaff every time he says anything longer than a paragraph. I suspect his wife is dressing him in the morning and cutting his meat for him at dinner. Not good.
So the old joke around the synagogue is that some Jews are so welded (yes welded not wedded) to the Democratic Party that if they ran Hitler (or Rashida Tlaib) as a Democrat these Jews would vote for him. Now the question is if the Democrats ran a Zombie (the living dead) for President would loyal Democrats still vote for him.
An open question.
Regards,
Jim
Well based on my daughter who became a Democrat because of Trump, the answer is definitely yes.
It sounds like she is not voting for Biden but against Trump. This is how I will (most likely) be in a few months. I still can’t vote for Trump, but I can vote against this crazy, crazy, crazy radicalism on the Left. It’s a strange game of rationalizations… a game of what disturbs me most. (I am most disturbed by the ripping apart of the country via the handy-work of resurrected Marxists who are scarier than any person at all in his seventies.)
As much as I hope Trump does some how manage to win reelection, I think the Biden campaign can beat him like a drum on coronavirus. Even if things get better, the USA’s record on coronavirus is rather crappy when compared to Europe. Europe doesn’t seem to have had a big new spread in previously ok regions.
According to worldometer, the USA has had more deaths every day than all of Europe has for at least a month at this point.
Joe,
Assuming that the numbers aren’t being faked. Had antibodies for the virus (got it 3 months ago asymptomatic) and died of the heart attack they were already in the hospital for.
Regards,
Jim
I’m not sure if I follow your response. I think you mean that the European outbreak occurred earlier so I shouldn’t worry about how our daily comparison looks to Europe as a whole right now. I think our New York outbreak only lagged Europe’s by maybe a few weeks, though.
Joe,
No, I mean the rules for reporting the statistics have changed and we are testing many more asymptomatic people. We are getting phony numbers of cases and phony numbers of deaths. The increase in hospital occupancy isn’t due to COVID patients but to the backlog of serious conditions untreated because they were thrown out for the avalanche of COVID patients that never happened. Finally, the headline hounds of the woke media are reporting three weeks’ worth of cases reported today as if they had all happened in one day.
The second wave is B.S.
Regards,
Jim
yeah, the NY Times has had numerous stories of the virus running rampant in the South. But none of middle class people who are dying. I think doctors have figured out how to treat the virus. And Trump will make sure multiple vaccines are available prior to the election.
Stephen,
Those vaccines will only be approved for experimental treatment. To get a shot of one, you will sign a legal liability waiver as long as the arm you are being injected into. If not run for the hills because they are nuts.
Regards,
Jim
Well, I was only comparing deaths in all of europe vs the USA per day, and even if our numbers are inflated, they would have to be cut in half to be like Europe’s numbers currently.
Joe,
I’m not talking about an accidental few outliers. I’m talking about fundamentally faulty new reporting regimes being used. When you deal with people who don’t believe in facts only narratives, they have no respect for objective truth and think artful manipulation is justified if their narrative is good.
It is more than possible that our actual numbers are less than half of those recently reported.
Regards,
Jim
Could Biden blow it?
Let me think for one second… YES
I’m sure there is overlap between deaths classified as covid and pneumonia. The symptoms are similar. Treatments are also similar.
Death per million is higher in Europe than in US
let’s not forget the vaccine fiasco during the Ford administration
I think it was 1975 or 76
When states report ‘cases’ they should also report the average age of the cases
In Florida the problem isn’t lack of beds, it’s lack of medical staff who were furloughed during in April and May
NY, Italy, Spain, France have similar timelines
Wrong
look at the data again, specifically a measure called deaths per million
You can always write in Superman or Clark Kent
Your daughter was Independent or Republican and switched to Democrat?
When? The timeline is important
The worst states for covid deaths per million are all run by Democrats!
4 weeks ago, this same panel of commentators said Biden’s lead is too high to overcome
Commentary magazine is the Seinfeld of conservative punditry: too NY, too Jewish
I mean it as a compliment
Mister Bitcoin,
So they flunked out of prophecy school. At least they could have the decency to drop the Cassandra routine. You’re right, it’s damn annoying.

Not his thing, He is more of a “sniff the locks guy, and grab a casual feel”.
but not his son Hunter
I thought John’s line of thought was an interesting twist on the conventional tropes. Could the Dem establishment be fooling itself this time as it did in 2016? Quite possible.
So, where are you getting deaths per million for Europe as a whole. On worldometer, when I click on Europe that field is not field in / calculated from the other data.
Even so, you can not possibly be right, at least according to worldometer. Among all countries, the USA is the 10th worst on a deaths per million count, with only the European countries of the UK, Spain, Italy, Sweden (and San Marino and Andorra) being higher than the USA in this metric, and they hardly make up the dominant population of Europe as a whole.
