Even if Mike Flynn was on Turkish payroll, it doesn’t make the unmasking abuse okay.
Happy birthday, Mrs Pod!
Its a good point, what right does a witness have to not answer questions under oath? Why isnt he in trouble for that? Could you imagine if Roger Clemens said that? “I cant get into that” or “I cant say” … Everyone would’ve lost their minds.
Focusing on Tom Price is going to get a Democrat elected in 2020?
Wow, I would like see that campaign!
Tom Price is deeply connected to Trump?
There has been no Democrat corruption?
No social issues, no economic issues, no foreign policy issues, just Tom Price all the time in 2020?
…
Is Noah Rothman really going to vote Democrat in 2020? How is that going to affect the podcast? Noah is going to be enraged at Trump for 16 months, episode after episode, for the next 100+ episodes, on a conservative podcast?
Noah has become a joke and is to the Commentary podcast what David French is to the Editors. Even after the spectacle of Mueller testimony he takes everything in the report at face value. And how can they conclude the Trump administration has no interest in thwarting Russian interference? I wish Abe would say more, because it’s becoming increasingly clear that he and John are the only ones dealing with reality.
I’m no doctor, but Bob Mueller appeared to be in early dementia. Someone in that situation should not be appointed to an office of great responsibility. Was this known when he was first appointed? Or did the condition not appear until after he was in office for a while? Did the Democrats in Congress know about this condition? How could they not know? Didn’t at least one of the many Democrats who worked for Mueller on the investigation discreetly talk to a leading Democrat about the problem? Did they insist upon him testifying even though they knew his condition? How could they think that having someone in his condition testify would advance their cause? It’s wrong to knowingly subject someone with dementia to embarrassment.
Bob Mueller was used as a “Republican” figurehead for the investigation. Without him it would have looked like a Democrat only operation. Is this why he was kept on? Who was really running the investigation? It should have been apparent to him that he was no longer up to the job. Or when dementia starts, is there so much self denial that the patient does not know the obvious?
Because Trump has both implied it and explicitly said so on multiple occasions?
Not sure of your age, my friend, but you don’t need to resort to the insufferable Millennial (and younger demographics, too) habit of ending declarative statements with uptones.
It is often used snarkily (as you just did), but also conversationally (“Um, I go to Trinity? In Hartford?”)
I’m not sure when this trend began (perhaps in the last 20 years or so) but my god is it irritating.
The report that you refuse to take at face value found zero evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia.
Surely it’s occurred to you that if Mueller and company were determined to implicate the president, they could easily have done so with blatant falsehood?
One line is pure snark, Daniel — yours. And one is a genuine question — mine.
Ask yourself which line works better, and less snarkily, without the question mark.
I suppose it’s my fundamental Christian belief in redemption that keeps causing me to return, this time after a year-long hiatus from listening to the reflexively NeverTrump Commentary podcast.
Maybe I’ll be back in another year.
No mention of the fact that there was ZERO evidence of collusion by Trump or the Trump campaign, no mention of the fact that the collusion false leads were planted by the US Intelligence Community, no mention that all of the supposedly damning evidence of obstruction occurred AFTER it was clear that there was no collusion, i.e. after the second day of the investigation.
Hey Commentary guys – how do you feel about Trump’s
* Moving the embassy to Jerusalem?
* Recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights?
* Bombing the [heck] out of Russian-backed Syrians after they fire on Israeli military?
“… but Trump!”
It’s time to go see what clever mockery of the Commentary podcasters Ace of Spades has posted on the Ace of Spades HQ blog.
