This week, Byron sits down with Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH). First up:  what kind of deal could break the Trump-Pelosi impasse? Plus: With the 2020 race underway, is Ohio still the nation’s key swing state? (Hint: Maybe not.) And: having voted for Mike Pence for president–yes, president–in 2016, will he vote to re-elect President Trump?

Nothin’ like a bit of Midwestern horse sense.

In a week rife with high-intensity Two Minute Hate training, a nice. quiet. sober discussion is an oasis of sanity. Thank you.

Rob Portman thinks that government shut downs are stupid.

Well, I turned it off there.  Maybe I can listen later.

It’s about the only weapon the president has in this fight.  You want him to be defenseless?

Senator Portman, I think the government is stupid for not controlling spending for the past 25 to 50 years.  All you guys want to do is spend money and shackle future generations to debt from your stupid decisions.  Why don’t you guys do your job for once?

I wonder if I could hire Byron to come to family events and social gatherings and just…say things. He should be a narrator.
