You know the story about a lie getting halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on? Today, a look at two key parts of the impeachment battle that have been the subject of a lot of inaccurate commentary but which we’re finally learning more about. First is the now-infamous Mick Mulvaney news conference; just what concerns did President Trump have before withholding, and later approving, U.S. aid to Ukraine? Second is a look inside Adam Schiff’s impeachment inquiry interviews. You’ve seen the leaks. Do they really tell the whole story? (Spoiler alert: No, they don’t.)

How can a vote on impeachment proceed based only on these interviews? Dont the republicans and the president’s lawyers get to cross examine the witness? Wouldnt this be a huge violation of the constitutional rights and due process of the president?

    The first ‘star chamber’ trial?

Impeachment is the indictment. The trial is in the Senate with House “managers” acting as prosecutors and Senators as the jury.

It seems like foreign governments were enlisted to help stop Trump in the 2016 election, so you’ll forgive me if a yawn while we complain about Trump wanting the clear and obvious corruption of the Biden’s investigated.

Not to mention the Obama administrations use of the IRS to go after Tea Partys. Trump hasn’t even come close to that, but if the Democrats do it, it’s all ok and proper.

I listened to this during my morning walk. Listening to Jonah and David French discuss the same things on the Remnant podcast while I’m making dinner. You’d be forgiven for having mental whiplash.

Adam Schiff’s behavior with Amb. Volker is entirely consistent with his earlier parody of the phone transcript. Schiff lives in his own world of make believe, and uses his position to intimidate others to join him in that world.
