Bill shares his thoughts on the violence and protests in Charlottesville. He explains why the police and authorities should have done more to stop the violence and how they let the protests spiral out of control. He also defends President Trump’s handling of the situation and blasts those who are trying to link Trump and conservatives to white supremacists. (NOTE: This podcast was recorded before President Trump’s press conference Tuesday afternoon.)

I still believe that Bill means well, but that he is just terribly misguided. He is such a fan of Trump’s, and such an adversary of the left (which he IS right about), that he doesn’t understand that a failure to totally condemn the alt-right, without the equivocations that the President has been using, is playing in to the hands of the left. And then much of the media, being on the left, picks that up, and uses their facilities to make it seem like every conservative is on the side of the alt-right. These are just the facts, and, it seems to me, anyone not willing to see them is risking the kind of victory for the left that no conservative should want.

Thanks again Mr. Bennett.  Great podcast!  At last a little sanity being brought into the discussion.

Thank you!  That is precisely the problem!  And I am amazed at the number of otherwise intelligent people who fail to recognize that fact.

The words/actions of Trump and his supporters over the last 12-18 months have amounted to one long and incredibly effective ad for Leftism, since what they have managed to do in that time is make being a Conservative synonymous with being a racist, homophobic, misogynistic Nazi sympathizer.  Lovely.

In other words, the Trump presidency has validated and reinforced Left Wing ideas about the Right … tarnished true Conservatism for the next several years, perhaps decades … and hastened the social-democratization — and PC-ification — of the country.

Trump and his intellectual kin are the best friends the Left could ever ask for.

Filmklassik, I have been saying this for the longest time, and all I get is grief from the Trump apologists. I fail to understand why they can’t see this, if they are serious about wanting the type of conservative governance that we sorely need in our land.

It may be understandable to react emotionally, when the left is trying to destroy all that we believe in. But we have to start THINKING, and reclaim what real conservatism stands for. Thanks for backing me up!

Yeah, point this out to your typical Trump supporter and they give you an earful of “It doesn’t matter WHAT we say, or WHAT we do — the Left is gonna brand us as racist homophobes ANYWAY!”

    Etc.

They don’t seem to realize that the culture is engaged in one big PR battle and that the Right is losing it. Badly.

And when you try pointing that out to Trump supporters, they reel off a long list of Republican legislatures and governorships.  (“We’re still winning, darn it!  America is still a center-Right country!!”)

They just — cannot — see — which way the wind is blowing.

    And it’s maddening to behold.
