Years ago I wrote to you when I came home from a China trip and commented how much better were the Chinese people than was/is their government. You actually read my missive on the air.
You’re a little older than I—like your brother, I went to Brooklyn Prep. Married. Father and grandfather. Still a practicing Catholic despite a Jesuit Pope. (Or at least THIS Jesuit Pope.)
I’m 75 now. I never thought I would be making such a statement about our own government as I did about China, but here I am in the Autumn of 2021 and ….and …after wanting to say that simply thinking ‘it can’t happen here’ may be enough…it isn’t…and ….it is happening here.
Now.
And so I do think we likely have, in fact, passed the tipping point.
