Ayaan speaks with Dave Rubin about the future of liberalism. Can it be saved and if so, how? They discuss faith, religion, and the pseudo-religion of wokeism. Plus, they explore whether or not we still have a free press.

Dave Rubin is an author, comedian, and TV personality best known for his political commentary. He is the host of The Rubin Report, a top-ranking talk show recognized as one of the most influential spaces for candid conversations about complex issues and current events. Dave is known for his iconoclastic and honest approach to big ideas and his unwavering support for free speech.

In an effort to combat Big Tech censorship, Rubin founded Locals.com, a subscription based digital platform that empowers creators to be independent by giving them control over their content and data.

Dave’s first book, Don’t Burn This Book: Thinking for Yourself in an Age of Unreason, was a New York Times bestseller. His second book is due for release by Penguin Random House in April 2022.

Rubin currently resides in Los Angeles with his husband David Janet and their rescue dog, Clyde.

Ayaan is like a breath of fresh air. She pulls the veil from the “woke” nonsense and reveals them for the childish and stupidly dangerous people they are. I think that a young woman who escaped a very oppressive Islamic upbringing, finds it easy to stand up to the petty bureaucrats, frauds and their useful idiots (the miseducated youth). They will try to cancel her. I don’t think it will work.

It is pretty much impossible for me to have any more respect for anyone else than I do for Ayaan Hirsi Ali!

Islamist terrorist tried to ‘cancel’ her. Woke millennials just aren’t as intimidating.

I wish people and corporations would stand up to them. For example, MLB would be in a far better position if they had told those putting pressure to move the All Star game to mind their own business and leave baseball to baseball owners, players and teams. The same for any other corporation. Just make Coke for goodness sake. Stay out of politics.

I saw a video of a group of thugs who invaded a Dallas restaurant recently. People were just letting them yell “BLM and burn it all down”. People need to confront these thugs and tell them to get the hell out. I’m an old lady, but I’d like to think I’d at least say something if I found myself in that situation. Maybe, “Hey, I’m not a racist and you are all disgusting thugs. Go away!”

Both panelists are marked for death:  she for criticizing Islam, he for being gay.

I just hope they are taking proper precautions when they go out on the street!

This is kinda why we have the second amendment. Dave Rubin is now a gun owner.

At about 10:00 point in the podcast David Rubin says:

“But then the Charlie Hebdo attacks happened, and I was on air with the Young Turks, and several of my co-hosts, they didn’t flat out say that they deserved it, but they basically were saying ‘you shouldn’t post these cartoons, you shouldn’t poke the bear, these are oppressed people, and you’re being mean to them’ and all those things, and it became so obvious, it was one of the final moments of crystallization for me, of how devoid of comprehensive thought the left had become on so many fronts… These were the Young Turks, these were my co-hosts, and pretty much everyone that worked there, that was really the driving point, that, they never flat out, you would never go so far as to say they deserved to be killed, but the implication was somehow that the cartoonists the satirists in some way created their own fate”

For many on the left, victimization cannot exist unless the victim belongs to one of the categories currently favored by the left and the victimizer does not belong. Thought has been replaced by ideology, because thinking is hard and because ideology is emotionally satisfying…and profitable.
