    What the “deep state” is doing may be consistent with roughly half of those who bothered to vote in the last election, but it is antithetical to the process required by the Constitution which forms the legal basis of our self-governing society. Other than that, no problem.

    Except, that’s a really big problem. It is subversion. It is insurrection. It is the same thing the Confederate states did when they disagreed with the person who was elected President and his policies. It’s the opposite of working on behalf of the American people.

    I disagree with the idea that the Welfare state and a social safety net are the same thing. The social safety net is a temporary measure for people or it’s a benefit to the seriously ill. The Welfare state gives everything to everybody in order to grow it’s own power. Corporate welfare is a big part of the Welfare state as is the money that rich people get from social security.
