Owen Strachan, author of Christianity and Wokeness: How the Social Justice Movement is Hijacking the Gospel – and the Way to Stop It, joins us to discuss why churches have so eagerly adopted wokeness, how this wokeness betrays Christian ideas, and how we can purge churches of this corrupting ideology.

A splendid interview…The interviewee is most impressive, and then there is the interviewer, who is consistently so good at what he does!

An interesting paradox, it would seem, is that the Christian Sabbath continues to be observed in supposedly secular Germany. Even my lapsed Catholic friends support Sunday stillness.

A half century ago in Japan, where I have spent most of my life, there was the quiet of New Year’s, which lasted for several days. One rushed to buy what one needed before the 31st…And then it was almost like Shabbat Shalom…Alas, that’s mostly gone now.

One thinks of Dickens’ attack on Sabbatarians, which he scarcely seeks to hide in his A Christmas Carol. Yet whatever the hypocrisy, one misses that blessed stillness.

Oh, by the way, Andrew Klavan’s When Christmas Comes is to be most highly recommended. I still haven’t learned how to give it a five-star rating. I would like to explain why I think it is so worth reading or listening to, but I don’t want to spoil the plot!
