Immersion programs DO NOT “hobble” children intellectually. Holy cow. I wish immersion programs were a thing when I was a kid! Learning a second language enhances one’s understanding of the first language. In my state they’ve been doing immersion for a long time and there’s no problem.

I don’t understand the grandparent’s objections at all. Klavan is right: the kid doesn’t become “Hispanic” or lose English aptitude or her cultural identity in the least. My cousin’s kid’s school did LATIN immersion one year, and you can imagine what a power vocabulary they came out with. They did NOT emerge wearing togas and conquering their neighbors.

Can someone post a link to the article about the fellow who left the cult of SJW? I really would love to read more on this. I live in Portland and there are many in the SJW cult and its growing. The second article about whether human extinction is a good thing, I’m glad Mr. Klavan told me about, but its too stupid to spend time on. Mr. Klavan did a great job exposing the stupidity of that argument. I’m still pondering his thoughts and comments.
